Three-quarters of black baseball fans said they were hoping Bonds would break the record and just 37 percent believe he knowingly used steroids. Among whites, the results are a mirror image: 76 percent believe that Bonds did use steroids and 37 percent are rooting for him to break the record.

    Sounds like people are just rooting for their own “team.” Naturally blacks would support him and want him to succeed. Whites may wish they had a white athlete accomplishing the same thing. I see little difference between Americans rooting for the American Olympians out of loyalty rather than them being the best competitors.

    I am white and hope he does just so that it taints bud selig’s era even more. I dont have a problem with players using steroids it makes it more entertaining. I just don’t like the image it portrays to children
