This book is a little dated now that FAT 16 is no longer the de facto standard for PC fiel systems but the lessons to be learned from it are invaluable. First of all, any one still supporting FAT 16 machines should have a copy of this book under their pillow – there is no way that you never needed to undelete a file, repartition a HDD or recover from some sort of data loss. Secondly, even in this day and age, the simple and effective steps in this book allow you to understand how MS based file systems work.
