I am installing simply mepis on a computer at school, but I can’t get it to boot. So I did some research and found out about a grub boot floppy. I tried to make one but I can only find directions for how to create on in Linux and I only have access to windows computers. I am also a newbie
I want it to boot from the hard drive
I have already installed mepis. I get “loading grub stage 2″ The longest I waited for it to boot was two long hours

I’m a computer newbie and i’ve triead installing the sims 2 on my pc several times. My brother installed it in my toshiba notebook for me. He did everything. He cracked the folder and he told me it would never work because it had to be Windows XP. UM, how can i install it properly? I’m aware of the money i’ve spent for the disk. And i’ve got 85 gig free space on my hard drive. What’s wrong? Oh, and this Toshiba notebook’s better than my HP one.

I ran a free antispyware scan with XoftSpy from www.paretologic.com and it listed that my notebook is infected with CWS.Oslogo (type: registry value; threat level: Severe risk;object: softwaremicrosoftinternet explorerstylesuser stylesheet ) .
For removing this registry entry I was asked to purchase the XoftSpy program.
What are the ways/instructions to MANUALLY & SAFELY edit the Windows registry in order to get rid of this malicious registry entry?

I’m currently trying to get an XP computer to share a printer over a network that has computers running mainly Vista and Windows 7. When I try to share the printer (or anything for that matter) over the network, none of the other computers can connect to the XP computer. They can see the XP computer, but it will come up with an error and will not allow me to connect it.

I’ve already set up everything. I installed Windows XP on a separate partition from Windows 7. However Windows 7 can recognize my router and internet access fine. Though, XP cannot.
