I’m only sixteen, but I’m very interested in computer programming and application developing for Mac computers. I’m wondering if there are any good books out there that will help me learn how to go about the basic process and learn the coding if not even further. Thanks in advance.

Also! Any good books on repairing computers? that would also be a great help.

Ok, so I have yet another question pertaining to computer programming *I’m on a roll!*

I am an absolute beginner at computer programming, and I want to get started THIS SECOND! Lets just say I have an experience level of 0, although that is not true, I want to start at the very beginning. The only experience I have had with programming and writing any type of code is HTML, actionscript, and a little (I mean extremely little) bit of experience with asp.net, c#, and c++ (all from just messing around).

I would really like to begin learning right away, but I don’t have a clue where to start! Not to brag, but I do know a lot about computers…I am a geek…lol. I learned HTML from W3Schools, online tutorials, and by experimental methods, and I learned actionscript strictly from online tutorials, then most of it just came to me. I just cannot seem to find that edge to begin learning how to program in other languages or even which language to begin with!

I downloaded Microsoft’s Visual Studio Express 2008 Edition, which includes Visual C#, Visual Basic, Visual C++, and Visual Web Developer. I don’t know if I made a good move in downloading this software studio, but the programs are very nice, although I don’t know much about actually creating stuff in them!

I read about object oriented programming…what is that?? I also asked a question on here yesterday about the best language to begin to learn. Most said C++ but I thought BASIC was the most “basic” language and the easiest to learn?

I am basically a newbie eager to learn but I need some guidance to get going! Can you recommend a few good *active* online forums, tutorial websites, ebooks, and books for the beginner programmer?

i am in a grade 12 computer business class… and my project is on viruses, i know of trojan viruses, but are there any more, and if yes, how do they work? i am a newbie when it comes to computers, but be as technical as you want… please help me!!!!

i asked the same question before, but no one is answering, and i need this info for tommorow or i’m screwed…Please help me…
or just give me the names of viruses and i will look them up on wikipedia…

oh, my teacher does not want common viruses… like worms or trojans, so anething else would be greatly appreciated… THANKS A BUNCH!!!!!
i did google viruses but there are so many… which are the ones that you ppl are most familiar with.

I am in the beginning stages of learning about building/upgrading a computer. Please correct me if I am wrong here. The necessities of a computer are…
-a mother board
-cpu (which also attaches to the motherboard?)
-ram (which attaches to the mother board?)
-graphics card (which also attaches to the mother board?)
-sound card (not sure where it attaches…)
-fans, and a case.

anything else you can think of?

I know enough about RAM to get by I think… are there any properties of a motherboard which are important that I understand? I know a CPU attaches directly to it… I guess my main question is… can you run newbie through any numbers, specifications, and properties of a motherboard and/or cpu and/or graphics card if you are bored and what to lend a hand? Thanks.

What is the best way to self educate myself on general computer knowledge? I want to be one of those people that know how to take apart a laptop and put it back together in no time. I want to know what all the parts do, what purpose they serve, whatever the heck a bios is, what video card to look for for whatever purpose and everything else. Where should i start?

due to some problem that occured in my computer ,i did data recovery without my knowledge,as the result of it i lost all my data(music files and important photoes) .Now i want nearly all the files that i lost very badly. is there any ways i can recover all my data back ? pls somebody help me ?

Last night I got an E-Mail from a private sender and I am not able to reply or doing anything to get this person attention. Basically the email said watch out for this teacher he is a backstabber and a whole lot of crap. I did not believe the email. I did however show the teacher my email and he looked at it and said this is not true. This was in the morning before school Then after my 4th Period at lunch he tells me that. I should not be talking to him anymore unless it is regarding math only. I don’t think that was right and now my whole school VP and Security is involved with this one e-mail. The email did not include a threat of any type of regarding anything about harming people. The whole e-mail was harmless. Bottom line I am talking with this teacher every day about things that happen at after school hours and he is okay with it and then I ask him are you sure I am not bugging you in any way and he says no your not. I enjoy our talks and then this email comes around and the he turns a 180 on me and says don’t talk to me unless it has to do with math. I am not sure what to do. I am not sure what to say. I don’t want this person out of my life because he is a positive person that always knows how to cheer me up when I am down. Lastly he has made comments to me saying that I am an important person in his life. I am starting to think that it is not true and he just lied to me and said that just to make me feel better when I am down. Can someone please tell me if this guy is lying and also what I should do on Monday when I go into his room. I want to talk to him one last time and say hey whats going on. Please please please I need some advice.
