when i got my computer the owner before put windows xp on it.the original is vista so the xp wasnt working right so i put vista back on it with a windows anytime upgrade disc and it worked fine up til now, its asking me for a product key and when i put the one thats on my computer in it tells me i cant use that one and to either find the product key for vista home basic or restart my computer and restart in with another program. and since this popped up i cant even get nto my computer until i enter a valid product key.so how can i fix this?

For some reason my Kodak easy share C813 digital camera records .mov files that can only be opened with quicktime. I tried to open up the file in windows movie maker hoping to change it to a wma or something else, but it says this:

The file C:UsersRobynDesktop100_0559.MOV cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

So my question is… How do I find the right codec and how do I install it into my computer. I have vista… if that matters.

I have my computer hooked up with just a vga port on the back of my hdtv (720p tv). But the only problem I have is finding the right resolution, the one i think is right always cuts of the side of the screen and I don’t know how to fix it.

I’m just now getting around to explore my Plextor PlexWriter 12/10/32A. The Plextor website indicates I must purchase “recording software” somewhere else.

I’ve tried 14 websites with no success…

Is there a connection between Plextor and Acer…Adaptec (I have a Jaz drive and SCSI in another computer, but not this one)

No I’m not connected using USB…

I’m running W98SE on an AMI Megathon with AMD Slot A 750

Plextor wrote back asking for whatever err msg…OAKCDROM doesn’t contain info about my PlexWriter

Plextor, like most non-legacy devices, installed great as a CD-R…

I’m baffled why Plextor doesn’t include the SW when I buy the burner…

The Motherboard I have is a Gigabyte GA-5AX (Rev 5.2). Here’s a link with spec so you can understand what I’m working with.

And I can’t for the Life of me Find any of the USB Controllers, Root Hubs, and I forgot the rest of the components I need; but the problem is I can’t use my USB. Long story short. We had a computer, and I used to make movie on this program called “Intel Movie Creator”. From 2001 to 2004 (Somewhere along there) we bought Windows XP and tried to install it. Something went wrong, blue screen of death, someone took the old hard drive out, put new hard drive in, years passed, I get this computer with the legacy motherboard, found the old hard drive, couldn’t use it cuz the computer couldn’t see if it had a file allocation table, got a program to download the files, and I got the program to work again. (Sigh) Sorry about that, just wanted to give you a brief overview of how it’s been for me. So just recently, I was able to download a USB Host controller, and the computer sees it in device manager, but when I press the add button to display some of the additional components in the controller, all you see is something called “Unknown Device”. I have no Idea what to do. Well…I do, but those things are very Risky. So I ask, If ANYONE knows all the usb controllers, components etc. Please let me know, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Also, just as a side note. I’m on a Mac, so I can’t download anything from the Windows update site. So if there is a site that can download USB root hubs, that would be great too, Thanks Again!!

I want to play WoW Cataclysm but my computer runs it very slow especially in cities but I used to never have this problem only in Dalaran before Cataclysm. But 90% of these answerers told me it was my video card but I looked on Newegg.com and most of them are expensive and I really don’t know how to find the right one because I don’t want to pick one I think is fancy and when they deliver it it’ll be wrong for my computer.
