Iv tried posting this earyler but the link to the shopping cart with all the computer parts did not work so instead ill post the part numbers which than can be keyed into Newegg.com to see the specs. My question is wether the components listed below are compatible with eachother and what i could have possibly missed. Please anyone with computer expertise help a newbie out =)

Ok based on everyones answers this set up should in theory work fine. Thanks for all your time and help iam very grateful. ill post for final revisions, also take a close look at the power source as i was not 100% on my decision thanks guys/gals ^^.

This program thats a little icon on my bottom right screen called “Anti-Virus Xp” keeps telling me i have almost every single whatever worm trojan and virus there is yet my computer is working fine?? Every minute something pops up telling me i have all these threats. I have Norton internet security and the scan has been running for a full hour and it hasn’t detected a thing.

I’ve restarted the computer and how do i make the pop up things stop?? Internet is working fine no hi-jacking virus that Anti- Virus keeps telling me. This Anti-Virus Xp t hing seems legit though ?
Norton says the system is secure but this Xp thing keeps telling me the system is infected. I have to purchase it to protect me but why should i do that when i’ve already purchased norton. As im typing this little pop up icons keep saying i’m infected with spyware and junk.

I dont know what to do, help!

Heres what ive done so far in the theory but im told its not right can anyone help?

I have been hired to improve the communications and networking facilities of a local computer sales and repair shop in Sligo. The shop is a well known and popular business that provides technical support to a number of large companies in Sligo town. They also have a shop where they sell computers, computer accessories and also computer games. The building is made up of three floors.

Preliminary Site Inspection

Ground Floor
•Two Rooms

Computer Room (MDF)
The ground floor is mainly used for sales. There is only one computer on this floor. In the rear small room there is an MDF.

First Floor
•Two Rooms
Repairs
Store Room

This floor is used for repairs. Everything from repairing laptops, pc’s and printers, reformatting and reinstalling operating systems, updating and upgrading machines, putting in RAM, hard drives, different processors and changing damaged parts, etc, will be done here, all the pc’s that are fixed are stored here. There is only one access point in the repairs room and one LDF. The store room has all the store stock in it.

IDF
One room will be used by payroll staff and will contain two PC’s. The manager will also have his own personal PC in this room. The third room is where the IDF is stored. Directly below this room is the repairs room which contains the IDF.

Basic setup of Main Distribution Facilities (MDF) and Intermediate Distribution Facilities (IDF)
All any company needs is one MDF. It must be beside the Point of Presence (POP) – where the internet provider (Eircom, etc) has set up access. In this company’s case, it will be set up on the first floor of the building. There will be a minimum of one IDF per floor. An example of where more than one IDF per floor would be needed is if a PC is more than 100 Metres away from the IDF.
Each switch is connected with two TBASE1000 but only one of them is used for the connection as the other one is only there to provide a backup. You must route the cables in different directions because if there is building work, digging, etc, being done the wire could be damaged and if the two wires were in the same place then both wires would be damaged leaving the backup useless.
The MDF has routers, switches and enterprise servers. The IDF has switches and work group servers (Word Processing, Print Servers and File Sharing). We will use Gigabyte Internet to connect up the main server, as this will make access to the server much quicker.

Future Requirements
Ground Floor:
I want to expand the access points on the floor for two or three display machines. In the other room, I want to include an MDF and also an enterprise server.
First Floor:
I want to upgrade this floor to have eight points (two per engineer). The reason for this is to provide a backup access point so that in the event of one of the connections breaking; they will have a spare one. If in future more engineers are employed, additional access points will already be in place meaning no additional installation will be required. There will also be a work group server added in here. All the stock and repairs will be in two rooms rather than one room. There will be one PC in the store room to track stock, repairs, etc.

Second Floor:
I would like to add another PC for the payroll staff. I want to upgrade the unused office and turn it into the manager’s office. It is necessary for the manager to have his own office, separate from the other staff to allow him privacy when dealing with company issues or any personnel related queries. All we need is one access point in this room. There will also be a work group server on this floor.

The scalability of the network must be quite large so that it can grow without any major changes to the design being needed. For example, if we have fifty users, we need to make sure that the scalability is 200% so that more users can be added in future as the company expands.
We must also have good adaptability of the network as today we might only be sending a data file but in the future we will more than likely want to send video links, etc.
We will need to improve our internet range and abilities such as, remote access to other PC’s. So if a customer with internet access calls us with an issue, we can connect remotely and solve the problem there and then.
In future if the company expands, I would like to add another building but would like to keep the network within one.
I also want to set up a WAN so that if the boss wants to work from home he can access all the information he needs from his own pc.
I am looking into using Skype phones in the business for a low cost communication option, to try to save money for the company due to the recession that is ongoing at the moment.

All of a sudden I have been infected with what seems to me to be a pretty bad virus. So far it has denied me acces to many internet sites, changed internet settings, deleted programs, installed anti virus programs, all types of fake alerts that will not go away such as (System alert:malware threats, you may be infected with backdoor trojans) etc. Also i get a new warning every 5 seconds, and the internet opens up to different sites trying to sell me anti virus software on average of 1 internet per 3 minutes. Also i have borwsed the internet and they have all said to get these programs to eliminate it, but the virus wont let me download and programs from the internet, it says my “Security setting will not allow me to download this” which is new and must be the virus. I also am unable to do a complete reformat because i dont have the disk anymore :O and when i use my Telus eProtect to scan for viruses it finds many and i delete them but i still always have the problem. please help me.

I also am unable to do a complete reformat because i dont have the disk anymore :O it also says restarting and than it pretends to restart but when it does it says this software is counterfit and u need to purchase a subscription.I cant take it off of my add or remove programs it is in a seperate file and it wont remove.

I recently got a job at Best Buy, in the Computers department. I didn’t even apply for this position, because I know literally nothing important about computers. I told them this at my interview but they assured me that everything would be fine and that it was actually a good thing that I didn’t know anything… Well the thing is they only schedule me about 2-3 days a week for about 5-6 hours, then I will get like 4-5 days off in a row, so any information that I was exposed to is now forgotten. Yesterday I was the only person in the computer department and I literally had 6 customers all come at me at once asking me what “that means, what does this do, whats the difference between such and such” I felt like a complete idiot, I tried to find someone and I kept paging people to the computer department, but they all just bailed on me. I dont even have a blue shirt yet and they just threw me out on the sales floor expecting me to know everything. I didn’t even know what DDR3 meant “I seriously thought they meant dance dance revolution” I have asked them to teach me but they just give a run threw and don’t go into much detail. last night at work a co worker said I was f*cking stupid, I almost started to cry because I am really trying, I even made flash cards, I feel so inadequate I also feel dumb because I’m like the oldest “new hire” I’m 24… Guys I know this is long and I got kinda off topic, but can you please help to be better? thanks!

5 hours ago from now i was surfing my browswer and just looking at things. I always pay attention to everything and i make sure I never install anything that’s harmful or something i dont trust. Like if i want to install an update or some other stuff I’ll always go on the official Microsoft website to do so.
I was on google, surfing. I typed in the rarest diablo 2 items (Diablo 2 is an rpg for those who don’t know that). And so i looked around, i clicked on a few websites. My computer was fine, then when i finally clicked on a 3rd one ( it was called something like maxfreak) (DO NOT GO ON IT), my firefox browser failed. So i was like, okay this happens every 2 weeks and now. I re-opened my firefox. Everything was still fine. Then on my right, this crap popped up, must install security system, 3000 threats found!) Ok I didn’t fall for that so i blocked it because I know that it was an unkown publisher. But even when i ignored it ( i didn’t press anything on it or related to it) That crap still coming back, another window popped up. So I started to realize some sh!t was happening. So i moved fast, i quickly turned on my anti virus scan. I made sure my firewall was on, and so i waited untill i could find something. A friend recommended me that i downloaded the latest malwarebytes system. Before I did, my antivirus system started going crazy, I could tell that sh!t was done for, it got infected. So it was a race against time, i couldn’t install the malware byes ( anti malware system) my friend uses it, its safe. because apparently the VIRUS wouldn’t allow me to install it. So i kept moving on. i installed another program which i knew was safe. I managed to do that, and then i managed to find what was wrong. I had over 300 small viruses, malware and trojans ( by just going onto 1 website). I was scared, seriously, so i did my best i removed everything. My computer went back to normal. I thought it was over? It looked like it, everything was perfect. i clicked again my my firefox.. ERROR CANNOT FIND FILE ERROR. I clicked on one of my games (starcraft, diablo 2) ERROR CANNOT FIND FILE. i clicked on itunesk adope, ANYTHING, nothing is working. So i quickly moved on, i did the recovery system from before when i visited that website. and guess what it finished, and i still got ERROR everywhere. I tried to think what to do, i realized if i right clicked on a program and made it run, adminstator, it would then run!! The virus was still nowhere in sight, i think i deleted it all. But then your probably thinking? Hey why not go on the properties ( and check the box ( run as admin…). Yes i did that, but it still gives me that ERROR. I have to always right click a program to make it start.
The exact error text says.. Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
Can someone please help me? I will give you1 best answer if you find solution? I will give you 3 best answer if you help me solve it (finally). How? i will make 2 more question (random and just give you the best answer in the end). Please don’t tell me to call microsoft, they aren’t going to do crap!! I don’t think i can re-install the system, since i upgraded it form windows vista to windows 7. Please help me!! I am not a computer expert!
