I am leaving for Basic on July 3rd I am a former ROTC at the U of Arizona so I will be ahead of the pack, but what should I bring as far a clothes ipod computer whatever for tech school, if anything at all.

My computer wont load videos so it cant be video teaching. And i just want something to let me know how to take care of small to moderate wounds.

My husband will be going soon and we have a 1 year old….I want to know how much communication we can have? Can I send him pictures? Are they able to check a computer/email? It this the same for AIT?

Im thinking about joining the air force or the navy. I don’t want to fly in a plane though. Im about to be a junior in college and my major is information systems so I want to be a computer support specialist. But i dont want to do traveling and having to go overseas.

Even if you’ve signed up to be a computer operator, you still have to go through the nightmare of boot camp. Remember, you can get a head start on making rank if you do well.

A program that will get you ready should include activities similar in effect to what you will go through. Despite its propaganda, the military relies too much on the level of compatibility already achieved by the recruit in civilian life. There is no shock therapy there–if boot camp comes as a shock to you, it will leave you permanently straggling.

1. Watch a clock for at least an hour and immediately write down each time a minute passes (or something equally tedious).
2. Stand up for an hour, staring at a wall.
3. Do or eat something that will make you throw up.
4. Fast for two days. Loaf while you’re doing it, no need to overwhelm yourself in these preliminaries.
5. Go without sleep for 48 hours.
6. Join a fraternity just to go through Hell Week.
7. Get in a long line and wait for at least two hours. In fact, leave the line before you get to the front. Don’t do anything to make the time pass, such as talking to people or reading a book. You have to learn how to put up with the boredom and pointlessness.
8. Take a break after such tortures, although you won’t get one in boot camp. Avoid overtraining and anything dangerous.
9. Go on scary amusement park rides.
10. Watch something brutal, such as “The Passion of the Christ,” or a real-life slaughtering of animals.
11. Whatever you’re afraid to do, do it.

He has been in basic training since the beginning of January but recently had some help problems and could not participate in training.
I’m use to getting brief phone calls from him on Sundays but I received one this morning (Saturday) which was a surprise. I asked how he had his phone and he said “we get them for the whole weekend this weekend.”

Tomorrow is my 18th birthday and he went on to tell me that he got me something really cool for my birthday.

I just went onto his facebook because I had been checking it for him while he was away and I notice all his unread messages (I didn’t open any of them) had been opened and all the notifications had been looked out.

Now, I do not want to get my hopes up but do you think he might’ve been sent home? His phone is off now even though he said he would have it. Is there anyway he could’ve had access to a computer at basic?

I’m not saying I don’t trust him.
I’m wondering if it’s possible he is surprising me.
He’s probably going to have to start basic over anyways because he hasn’t be able to do any PT tests

I was just wondering after you graduate from BMT, how long does it take before you can recieve items from home? My parents want to send me a computer for my dorm but I am not sure if there will be one there for me…..
