One Response to “Please any expert in computer network answer to the following quesions?”

  • cyberdoc says:

Peer-to-peer is a network configuration where all the computers are equal. Windows terms it as Workgroup.
Peer-to-peer network can connect as many as necessary, but the problem comes with shares. Workgroup networking with XP Pro allows only 10 computers to connect to the share/computer. So resource sharing is severely limited.

Server/client configuration is where main computer/s act as central resource point. Typically they have Windows Server 2003, small business server, or 2008 etc. software. The client computers can be xp, vista or 2000 or anything.
Domain server/client configuration can connect upto 40000 computers/users. There is no restriction on the number of users that are allowed to connect to a share, it purely depends on the hardware resources.
