The Mifi is a great solution for bringing a WiFi hotspot with you everywhere in the city and even in the country (depending on HSDPA/UMTS/GPRS coverage in your country). It’s perfect to add 3G connectivity to your Archos, iPad, iPod Touch, Laptops and any other WiFi-only devices that you may have. In this video, I demonstrate a VOIP call taken using Google Voice and Gizmo5 on my $249 Archos 5 Internet Tablet using SIPdroid or any other SIP VOIP applications on the Android OS. This is the vision where you just need a pre-paid 1GB or 10GB of bandwidth per month on a SIM card, just enter it in your unlocked Mifi device, make sure the right profile informations are entered using the control panel and that’s it. You’ve just about got a full mobile phone replacement, but where you don’t need to pay for voice minutes and SMS subscriptions any more. Although eventually all devices will have built-in unlocked SIM card slots and modems, the Mifi solution is a really great temporary alternative, that connects on 3G all WiFi-only devices. When your city gets White Spaces, LTE or WiMax, you don’t need to buy new devices, just buy a new Mifi. If you travel a lot in Europe, this is a must have. Then find SIM cards for cheap pre-paid plans, for 5€ to 10€ and get Mifi internet access all over that city and country. The Novatel Wireless Mifi 2352 that I got was unlocked beforehand, I don’t know if there are online programs to unlock one if you happen to have a locked one. I bought the …

Ok. I have got an iPod Touch 4G.
Can I buy this thing and then I don’t pay monhtly costs?
Then I always have Wi-Fi everywhere?
And what about a SIM card?
Cool. Finally I think this will succes for my PSP / laptop at my uncle’s house with no phone lines. So lovely to see your background….so european !
@Charbax wow awesome! Thanks for telling me (:
@Kjw4396 The Huawei can be found at 50 euros unlocked now.
@Charbax
so, this MiFi thingy, you buy it for 200euros or so, and then you don’t have to pay monthly costs at all?
you just buy it and then connect and stuff & then you have a wifi hotspot?
would it also be better to buy an iPod Touch & MiFi instead of an iPhone?
btw thanks for making this video, I found it very informative
Outdoor unboxing!
LoL!
If i get one of those devices, should I pay monthly fee as well??
or just use it like that forever for free?
Wow – that would cost about $80 in the USA through Clear WIMAX….The U.S. sucks.
good video, if you can, can you do another one with the latest mifi devices.
I am from London, still not sure which mifi device is faster for a tmobile simcard?
I had a problem in setting it up for the first time. I can easily connect when it is hooked to a laptop, but stand alone, the signal indicator remains red. If I connect it trough a laptop then unplug it after connected, it works. Finally I found that I need to deactivate PIN of the SIM card. When connected through a laptop, the interface to enter PIN pops up. Stand a lone there is no way to enter PIN.
would this work on a iopd touch 4th generation?
-do you have to pay this monthly?
You know your a tech geek when you walk around with a mifi LOL. But WOW I am loving this mifi. I have to get one. I hope it works in the U.S. NY/NJ metropolitian area. Great video I love technology!
I’ll be playing better than them when I quit my job using the method I found at ez-casino(dot)com! LOL
that would be so funny it fell in the water
battery life sucks.
thats nice .
@ipodgrey2 Copenhagen.
@SCOEN NO! MiFi® 2352 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot for HSPA Networks (for Europe) & MiFi® 2372 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot for HSPA Networks (for North America)
Mine is on the mail! I cant wait
is this only available in europe?
what city is that?
@Charbax wow i am gona look into this for when im traveling thanks for the review
@Charbax you got a point there but is the Mifi 4G naw but it is cheaper and not everyone needs 4G not to mention its not everywhere yet like 3G . so where do I get these Mifi from? u got me interested when u compared prices
@AndroidAdvocate They charge you $29 extra for that. And you sign up for a $3500 contract to get that phone. I got the Mifi for less than $100 unlocked, then less than $10 per month and no contract for the 1GB/month of 3G on the sim card.
