In our top story today…continued coverage of the protests in Iran. People took to the streets of Tehran again on Tuesday, and theyre continuing to defy restrictions on reporting the news. Protests continue for a fourth day in the Iranian capital of Tehran. On Monday, hundreds of thousands of supporters of presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi filled the streets. And the BBC reported similar-sized crowds on Tuesday. But its getting harder and harder to get information out of that country. The footage youre seeing here is from Monday, when internet users began passing around a video of a protestor shot and killed by Iranian militia. On Tuesday, Iranian state media reported that seven people have been killed, but so far the details are sketchy about who was killed and by whom—at this point, we cannot even confirm if the state medias numbers are accurate. Foreign media have been effectively banned from going out to report on the pro-Mousavi rallies. Mobile phone usage is restricted, and internet access has been slow. But internet users are nonetheless managing to post videos of the protests. This YouTube video posted June 14 is already widespread, with more than 280000 views. And this YouTube video is among the most recent in Irans citizen journalism. It appears to show thousands of protestors in Tehran on Tuesday, marching together, in peacefulness and solidarity, asking, Where is my vote? Matt Gnaizda, NTD News, reporting from New York.

It reminds me of the RNC and DNC protests when we tried to PRE-EMPT the Pentagon Dictaorship.

they were so sneaky, arrested people the day BEFORE! corned others with tear gas.. used their horses to crush the head or the Iraq Veteran, arrested JOURNALISTS..

looks like Iran is a “Democracy” just like America, that’s all.

Peaceful demonstrations will not bring down this regime. The iranians should apply the same methods as Hamas and Hezbollah are using against Israel, suicide bombers against the basiji. I am sure people with terminal diseases will be more than glad to sacrifice themselves in order to put an end to the ayatolas.

Truly it is all about the value of worldwide monies, an intentional ‘wedge of contention’ inserted into every culture and nation around the world. Humanity is divided by those controlling money and resources, they fear the power of united peoples and nations.

The US has laid economic siege to Iran for 30 years. In 1953 CIA coup of Mosseddeq then installs Shah of Iran. Recently (March 2007)Congress voted $120 M for anti-regime media broadcasts into Iran and $60M in funding for opposition, violent underground Marxists and restive groups as Azeris, Kurds, Arabs under the “Iran Democracy Program”. Pakistani intelligence sources put the CIA’s recent spending on “black operations” to subvert Irans government at $400 million. No wonder Iran hates US.

ndavideo23, why ‘destroy the US’, they don’s threaten YOU. Iran will go ‘kaput’ entirely by themselves, trust me…And that AFTER young protesters will be executed by the supreme geriatric and his SS

  • amadrys77 says:

Lepus, do not lie to yourself. Do not put the US in one basket with an islamic, oppressive regime just because you like to state so… Iranians don’t even have a plan how to remove opprossors… They are voluntarily enslaved anyway, by that ancient religion Islam… Whoever’s the president in Iran, the people will live in the same Islamic soup… No way out !
So, stop wearing Jeans, become real Moslem monks again…

  • NegroLepus says:

Confusing the people of a country with it’s government is dangerous. The people of Iran are NOT their government, neither are the people of the US. I agree with you jaankhan23, those who control the money control the world

  • NegroLepus says:

The Iranian people are NOT the same as the Iranian government. The same in the United States, the people are seperated from their government. People should unite in love to fend off the oppressors. Governments are the oppressors, not the people.

  • kingx989 says:

I don’t know. I was in High School in Texas in 1979. I knew Iranians then, and liked them. All of the sudden they get rid of the Shah and bring in that guy from France. That Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini who put them back in the dark ages. So, what do they expect now? They, the people wanted that. I say keep it! Enjoy it…. I certainly didn’t like my country being called the great satan, and seeing my countrymen held hostage. Enjoy your religion.
