No, basic training isn’t a vacation. He will be able to make phone calls every now and then.
No but he will be able to make phone calls every sunday and write letters on his personal time, if he doesn’t mess up.
If he’s really, really good then he may get a pass to leave the base for a few hours and go to town. There’s bound to be some public computers there.
Otherwise, personal computers and cellphones are considered contraband (although that didn’t stop one guy at my cousin’s basic training from sneaking in a cellphone and charging people to use it). They do get phone calls out though. And besides, it’s only a few weeks. It goes by amazingly fast. Especially if it’s the type of base like my cousin’s, where you can sell a small packet of M&Ms for $40 (if the food/candy/sweets are not given out during meals, then it’s contraband).
Anyway, back on topic, he just needs to keep himself on the drill sergeants’ good side and you may be able to hear from him via the computer.
I’m going to boot camp in a month and they said that the only way of communicating is a beginning phone call when you arrive. Then only letters and 3 minute phone calls if you behave while your in
No internet there. My husband went to Parris Island for 13 weeks (Semper Fi!) and he only called home once. That was only because it was our deceased son’s birthday and he went to the chaplain. He wasn’t even supposed to use the phone then, but the chaplain gave in. It is worse than jail, and he may or may not get time to write to you once a week. Don’t worry, he is busy becoming a new, better, stronger man. Tell your friend our country says Thank you for his selfless act of patriotism and dedication.
Umm, sure. If he is in Marine recruit training he will have about 25 hours a day to sit on his fat aass at a computer. Then there is the one hour on Sunday when he have time to write his family.
NO JUST WRITE BUT IT TAKES COUPLE WEEKS TO RECIEVE MAIL AND IF YOU SEND PICS OF YOU IN UNDIES OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT THEY WILL MAKE HIS LIFE MISRABLE TRUST ME MY SISTER DID THAT TO HER B/F AND THEY MADE HIM SUFFER ALL THRU HIS BASIC TRAINING IN OTHER WORDS YES THEY READ HIS MAIL BEFORE HE DOES
Do you know his parents? They will get his address eventually and maybe a phone call or two. Give them your address so they can give it to him or ask them for his.
Tell him GOOD LUCK from all of us if you get a chance!
