Author: but then it says i cant connect to it because it says “The setting stored on the computer do not match that of the network’s settings” i changed the key on both Vista and Linksys and it still says it. Please Help!

first try plugging into it with a network cable. that way you can check to make sure your settings match. if you can’t connect wired either you may need to do a hard reset. this will put everything back to the original settings. there should be a button next to the power adaptor or it could just be a little hole. if yours has the little hole press a paper clip into the hole or press the button if you have one, until the router reboots. then try connecting to it using the default settings.
