When I start up my other computer, it clicks a few times on the inside and then shows a black screen with…

“SATA Primary hard disk drive 0 failure”

I want to know how bad this is and what the clicking could mean…
I’m a newbie to computers >_<

Ummmm, I would say you may have lost all your data =/

I’ll pray for you tonight, lol!

Virus’s don’t make your hard drive physically fall apart… sorry, ignore that one guy.

The clicking noise is the hard drive. Sounds like it failed or crashed. That is also why you get the error message. Only recourse is to replace the drive.

Seems to me like your system is totally fuc**ed.

You will need to get this looked at, but it is probably dead.

Could be that your hard drive is hosed. But first, open the computer case and check the hard drive cables. The cables on my SATA drive in my new HP computer tend to work loose ever once in a while and I have to tighten them up and then everything is fine until they do it again…

The drive clicks because it has power, but isn’t getting any information from the processor.

I am familiar with this problem. It is your system saying it the hard drive has died, or the SATA Cable has come loose. You should first try opening your computer case and look at the hard drive, which is most likely found in the lower front side of the case under the CD/DVD Drive. There should be two cables attached to it, you should pull out both of the cables and put them back in to make sure it hasn’t come loose, and try starting the system, if the problem persists, then you should buy a new hard drive.

The clicking sound means that the hard drive is working, but is unable to send information to the system as it is not connected with the motherboard, or the hard drive has died. If you can clearly hear the clicking of the hard drive, my bet would be that it is dead, and you will need to replace it.

Try taking out your memory and then putting it back in. If that doesn’t work, then your hard drive is dead.

If nothing you found here is working, try doing this. Very simple to do. Sorry about your luck! Did you try system restore? If you want to go back to when you had your comp almost new, you must first save any important files ( files that you use ) to a CD or floppy…. in Windows XP……go to start, all programs, accessories ( second column ), system tools, system restore ( bottom, right column )
close all other windows, before using this. Then Restore to an earlier date. After your done, restart your ( comp. ) windows. Good luck!
