I preordered this game and it seemed ok when I installed it. However, I have only played for about 15 minutes when I decided to try and download my bonus content.

The website for registering and downloading the content is broken, and there seems to be no monitoring of the site and there is no recognition by EA that the site is broken.

They recommend using chat to resolve your problem. I waited 35 minutes to get to a chat agent only to have it disconnect me with the message no agent was available when I got to the top of the queue. It then reconnected me back at the bottom of the queue.

Meanwhile, I have been on hold for 1 hr and 15 minutes for the customer service line. Every 2 minutes it says that the longest caller has been on hold for more than 20 minutes and encourages you to use chat, which is technically correct but misleading and dishonest.

This is some of the worst technical support I have experienced, and I would discourage anyone from having to go through it.

  • I wish I could have played the game in its entirely. The game did not have the ability to allow me to select the decodings of computer pads and towers which meant I could not proceed in the game. After reloading the game and reading manual it did not help. I would give it a 5 star otherwise.

The start screen will auto connect to the net if you have a connection with out asking and you can not turn it off. Also the hyper-link on the start up screen is broken for Downloadable Content, (DLC).

The in-game connection can be turned off under options.

There are key binding issues with the PC version. Do not re-assign the left shift key or the space bar and you should be OK.

This is a big game, 2 DVD mostly movies, it’s kind of nice, allot of cut scenes, especially at the beginning, and the are well done. Interaction is pretty good too, actually real good so far.

Graphics look pretty good at 1920 x 1200, no Crysis but still pretty nice.

The game is not bad but you can tell it feels like a kiddie console port job. It has been dumbed down since the first Mass Effect to the point that levelling up almost seems pointless compared to the options you had in the first one. Then there are the kiddie console achievements….

Don’t get me going on the stupid trophies and achievements that do nothing for you. At least Fallout 3 bobble heads did something for you and did not feel like a trophy even though they were in sense. But the senseless Trophies are being put into all the kiddie console games now days. I don’t need no stinking achievement just for sake of bragging rights.!!!!! They must think all gamers are 13 -16 year olds.

Overall so far pretty good but I wished I had waited for the price to come down first, not worth full price in my book because of the obvious port job simplicity to it, no good PC depth levelling up that it could have been if it were written for the PC first or if they bothered to add it into the PC version. I guess then they would piss off Microbloat and their crapbox 360 support and get jealous of the better PC version.

I still recommend it as a good game.

When I bought this, I had read the positive reviews, and read the description of the game, and thought I would buy it and give it a try. Much to my disappointment, I could not stand the interface of the game. It was so bad for me, I deleted the game from my hard drive, and gave it to somebody else who’s a more patient game player than myself. Essentially, this game is nothing more than a shooter with some role-playing for spice. If I wanted to play a shooter game, then Unreal Tournament is my only choice, as it’s “good enough”. My preference in games is 4x space exploration like Galactic Civilization II, and/or turn-based games like Civilization (all flavors), or the old Heroes of Might & Magic series. I also very much enjoyed playing Dragon Age, Kings Bounty and Fantasy Wars. I had hoped that Mass Effect 2 would be some sort of blend of the games I like, but alas, it was not.

  • It was a fun game till you beat it in just over 40 hours, shame they are just making games that are just parts of a story now. on the down sides never got the cerebus network to run with the code they gave me so no downloadable content for me, kind of sucks, remember having the same problems with another game they produces dragon age as well.
