Left 4 Dead 2 is set at roughly the same time as the original – just after the outbreak that turned most of the population into various zombie mutants. I would not recommend the sequel to anyone simply because it does not live to any of the expectations it was amounted to. The new infected characters are lousy and not very creative, it has become overly complicated and lost all of its fun as well as a notable decrease in the quality of graphics. It is no wonder Valve has spent over $25 million dollars advertising the game since otherwise it would have failed, which I believe it definitely deserves to. Instead of adding to the first feature of the game the company rushed through a second production in a year coming up with something that is pretty much useless and much worse than the first game. Left 4 Dead 2 does not really bring anything new, in the sense of concept, it just changes characters which I could do very well by using some skins and provides some new maps to shoot each other in. Not worth it.

Gabe Newell should be PO’d. Give em what we think they want, yadda yada. $39 for an expansion? Gimme a break. They better be using all this cash to fund HL3.
Q: How do they sleep at night?
A: On a bed of money

So weird… but after having played this game for past two days I suddenly feel like I really don’t care about this game anymore. I was a true fan of the original L4D but now I don’t feel much love for it. Someone mentioned about about spitters… oh boy… are they annoying…
No wonder they dropped its price to $40. L4D 2 is a big disappointment.

As for the game play itself, it’s really fun. New areas, new challenges, new weapons. Had a great time up until for no reason the screen went blank and the game dropped out with no warning or error. You’re just suddenly back at the desktop. I had the L4D2 demo and played it for some time and on this machine I have had no problems with many other graphically and CPU demanding games. But for every 3 attempts to get through a level I get 1-2 failures as described above. Great game Valve, just wish you had spent enough Q&A time on it so I could play it.
If you’re looking for a game a lot like L4D with new stuff in it then you’ll like this one. For the money though, and considering how regularly it completely fails, I think it’s a bust.
