but i seen sum others that said if te data cant be saved no charge. aka if they TRY to get data and FUCK UP then they gun say it cant be recovered.

sooo um a little scared at dat.

oh and i need dat ide to adat thingy so i cant do it yet. (cheap on ebay for like $2.30)

  • jcdent798310 says:

    i kno rite!?
well i didnt buy it mos got it for cheap cheap. brand new.

but this was the last thing i expected to happen

  • safetU2 says:

is not a rocket science, all you have to do is go into seagate website and you ll understand all, is full of Data Recovery Services, surely they must know that their hard drives suck, fukin bastards

  • safetU2 says:

jcdent798310, i got seagate Freeagent also 500gb, if you do try can you please tell me the outcome, i also got 320 seagate both are fucked, i will never buy from seagate anymore

  • jcdent798310 says:

    ok thanks.

p.s. yes the drive is spinning. and it has the adat (whatever its called) with the power and data things

  • FreeCompConsultant says:

I have never done that, but I would suspect you could if you took the unit apart.

Question is, though, how is the adapter different than the enclosure? – not too much.

Does the drive sound like it’s spinning? Please use the support forum on my website for further assistance, much easier & faster.

    thanks.

@rhodlhey I just updated the description of the video with a link to a USB hard drive adapter. Check other replies in comments below for the source of this adapter; USB is much easier though.

if I moved everything important over to my mothers computer,,,there shouldn’t still be an error, right??

My husband’s T61 dies last night (no lights, no post, nothing) and we need to recover data from the hard drive. Can I remove the hard drive fromn the Compaq and insert the T61 in it’s place, is it that simple?

Cool. you must be a data recovery expert . I lost all my data from my old laptop since I could not do this. It broke down and I had to throw it to garbage and all the data went with it:(.

Next time I can recover data from it my self:)) Thanks for a great video.
