Until they offer a mirrored RAID inside or RAID level 5, this is nothing more than another hard drive, just with a fancy case.

I received my ioSafe Solo today and was eager to set it up and use it. Unfortunately, it appears I have “Read Only” right for my ioSafe and cannot store any data on it. Uncertain what the issue is and hope at least to get some phone technical support tomorrow to troubleshoot. Further, when I registered the product online I was informed that the one-year data recovery service that came with this product costs $1000. I would have appreciated knowing that before I bought this, and not after.

Worked find until we had a brief power interruption and now it’s a brick. Neither my Mac nor my PC recognizes it; data effectively lost. Can’t even reformat it and restore a backup. I’d save my money if I were you.

I love my ioSafe. Works great with time machine. MUCH BETTER than my OLD Western Digital. Plus i dont have to worry about spilling my coffee on it!!
