Ironically, all the emphasis on computer tech jobs and the like, plus the tendency of many young people to become involved with computers, has begun to result in a serious shortage in other areas. Skills in building trades, such as bricklaying, plumbing, and general repairs are becoming more acite. I remember reading years ago about a serious shortage in stonemasons who had the necessary skills to build huge cathedrals. When repairs are needed there is no one capable of doing it.

Because of this, I envision the day when you will be able to go out and buy a new supercomputer for maybe a $100, but to get a leak fixed in your bathroom faucet could easily run you $5,000 or more. It might be more profitable, instead of learning more about computers, to learn about basic home repair instead. Everybody needs it, but no one wants to do it.

I work in a transcription company where computer skills are highly required. Transcription is a very basic job but even then it requires computers, if I didn’t know computers I wouldn’t be working right now.
You can learn different languages right from your home using the Internet or Cd’s.
You can gain a lot of information using encyclopedia, wikepedia and other knowledge centers. These resource centers will help to increase your knowledge tremendously.
If you know about the inside functioning of the computers you could also become a hardware expert, repairing ppl’s pc’s.
There are a lot of stuff you could do with computers and they can rightly be called the future of human evolution.
