My current laptop is getting old and I’m looking to move on to a newer one. I have a desktop PC but I think I’m sacrificing it to my parents who are without computer, so this will be my only computer…

* Internet use – I need internet access for classes and so I don’t shrivel up and die without it. Email, chatting with friends, research for classes, keeping on top of assignments, online banking, etc.
* Word stuff – I write a lot, research papers and essays for classes and writing stories is one of my hobbies.
* Music – I have a lot of it and I like it all. I don’t want to get rid of it.
* Movies – I don’t really do a lot with making movies on my computer, though I do watch DVDs on my laptop when I can, because that lets me sit anywhere as opposed to being stuck in front of a television.
* Photos – I just need basic photo stuff, nothing too fancy, though I do want to be able to run something better than MS Paint.
* Gaming – I have given up gaming.
* Durability – I’m a klutz.

Help?
Ooh, and I would like to find something with more battery life than the computer I have now… which is literally about 50 minutes before battery death.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
