In my professional work, I field questions all the time about what benefits there would be to some simple Microsoft office training. The truth is, I could go on and on about all the benefits one could gain but here are just a few examples.

Work from home- If more people had the necessary skills, more people would be able to work from home. Imagine, you wake up have some breakfast, sit down at your computer and you’re at work. You don’t have to worry about the long traffic-filled commute; there you are, at work already. This is a reality for people with some very basic computer skills. These are skills that can be learned very quickly and very cheaply.

Spend less time playing games and doing mindless surfing and more time being productive. You have that nice new computer that would likely just sit there collecting dust unless you use it. All you know how do to is surf the internet, maybe play some online games.

Use Microsoft Excel to design your household budget, use Microsoft word to create a chore chart for the kids, use Microsoft access to build a database of baseball cards. These are all tasks that are simple to learn. It would also be more personally rewarding to use your valuable time in a more productive way. Of course, you should play your games and have fun, but when it comes time to work and be productive, you should know how.

Save money by not having to purchase calendars and planners. These programs make it so easy to design your own. In addition, they would be very much built to your specifications, because you built them.
