So, several days ago I had typed in an internet address to the website I wanted to visit, but quickly realized I had typed in the wrong internet address into the search bar, because the site looked nothing like it, and looked fraud. Sure enough, I was immediately greeted by a pop up from my Trend Micro Protection saying my computer may be at risk. I did a scan and it seems that the scan always gets stuck at 24% on a certain file it is scanning. I took a closer look at the file name, and it turned out to be a cookie. So i looked up my cookie history and deleted all of them right then and there, then restarted the comp. I let Trend Micro scan my laptop again and it was stuck at 24% for 4 hours and still on the same file/cookie, then I had my mom defrag the laptop, and I erased the cookies again and restarted it. Left it on a scan for 13 hours straight and still stuck 24%. It says there is a potential of 116 threats now…when I first did it is was at 102. I need to know what the problem may be and how can I fix it?
