There could be many reasons to want to delete internet history. If you want to do this as routine maintenance, follow these easy steps to get it done with quickly.

This article will explain the deletion process for today’s two most popular browsers-Internet Explorer and Firefox. The processes are very similar. I will go through the steps for Internet Explorer 8 in detail. Then a brief overview of the steps for Firefox will follow.

Internet Explorer 8-How to Delete Your Browsing History. This browser saves your browsing history for twenty days without your having to do anything. You may want to clear your history before the twenty days has elapsed.

Step 1-Find the TOOLS menu at the top of your screen. Click it to reveal a drop-down list.

You will see several options. Take your time and choose carefully.

Step 2- You will need to go down to the last option, which is “Internet Options.” Click on this option. You will see a box containing many different available choices.

Step 3- Look for, ” Browsing History, ‘ in this box. Select this option.

Step 4- An option box is on your screen. Choose the term “History” in this box. You will now see a check mark beside the word ” History.” At the bottom of this box is a ” Delete” button. Click this button.

Step 5-A smaller window now opens. In it you can see an animation of files being thrown away. There are your Internet browsing history files. If you decide to abort the deletion process, just press CANCEL at the bottom of the larger box on your screen. To complete the deletion, just press O K.

Your Internet Explorer 8 history has now been deleted. Next let’s look at doing the same thing, using Firefox.

1. In Firefox, first go to TOOLS.

2. Next go to “Options.” Then press the ” Privacy, ” button.

3. Click where you see “History.” Now choose ” Privacy.”

4. Select and click ” Clear.”

You have now deleted your Firefox browsing history.
