My parents pc just got its hdd wiped clean and xp reinstalled, so is there a program that can recover data from the hdd before it was formatted?

There are so many that come up when I search on google, I just want to make sure I’m sending my hard drive off to the best one. There is also one here in the Bay Area (called bay area recovery or something) does anyone know if that’s any good?

I turned on my computer and it was asking for a system disk. I think that my operating system may have been compromised.

I ended up recovering the data off someone’s supposedly dead hard drive (all of it, about 40 GB in all). Took me 2 hours to set up.

Question is, how much should I charge? I know Best Buy is overpriced so what is the reasonable price for this much data? Thanks.

my puter got infewcted last night,had to use the recovery disc,i’m running xp home,the new instal had to format my c drive,is there any way i can recover all my lost data?for free?
yeah i know i shoulda backed up the data but hey,you know how it is,it’ll never happen to me etc etc etc

so any help on recover software appreciated especially if its a freebie!!!

first thing i tried was a system restore,but the drive’s been formatted
trying filehippo as of 15:30 today,just hope it works!!!

I have a external hard drive that has seen better days. I’m trying to get the data off it but it won’t turn on anymore. when I took it to best buy they said the only way to get the data off would be through data recovery which would cost me a grand or so to do and that’s if I was lucky. do they make/sell a home data recovery kit or something I can use to extract the data myself?

Recuva program didn’t find any deleted files after I freshly accidentally deleted a 4GB iso file on an external drive. I caught myself before writing new data to partition. Please advise me which program I can try next that may have better luck with. OS WinXP SP3. Thanks.

Trying to recover some files that disappeared after playing with partitions.

The laptop hard drive seems to have a lot of bad sectors however and is probably damaged. (Problems copying files, slow, etc.)

Should I try to to do data recovery first or try to fix the damaged drive. Will fixing the bad sectors affect the data recovery software?
