All of a sudden I have been infected with what seems to me to be a pretty bad virus. So far it has denied me acces to many internet sites, changed internet settings, deleted programs, installed anti virus programs, all types of fake alerts that will not go away such as (System alert:malware threats, you may be infected with backdoor trojans) etc. Also i get a new warning every 5 seconds, and the internet opens up to different sites trying to sell me anti virus software on average of 1 internet per 3 minutes. Also i have borwsed the internet and they have all said to get these programs to eliminate it, but the virus wont let me download and programs from the internet, it says my “Security setting will not allow me to download this” which is new and must be the virus. I also am unable to do a complete reformat because i dont have the disk anymore :O and when i use my Telus eProtect to scan for viruses it finds many and i delete them but i still always have the problem. please help me.

The top House Democrat overseeing the Department of Homeland Security is demanding that officials there explain how and why they wrote and released a controversial report identifying veterans as potential terrorist threats.

Rep. Bennie G. Thompson of Mississippi, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said in a letter to DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano that he was “dumbfounded” such a report would be issued.

“This report appears to raise significant issues involving the privacy and civil liberties of many Americans — including war veterans,” Mr. Thompson said in the letter sent Tuesday.

“As I am certain you agree, freedom of association and freedom of speech are guaranteed to all Americans — whether a person’s beliefs, whatever their political orientation, are ‘extremist’ or not,” Mr. Thompson said.

The report “blurred the line,” and Mr. Thompson said he is “disappointed and surprised that the department would allow this report to be disseminated” to law enforcement officials nationwide.

“I am particularly struck by the report’s conclusion which states that I&A ‘will be working with its state and local partners over the next several months to ascertain with greater regional specificity the rise in rightwing extremist activity in the United States with a particular emphasis on the political, economic, and social factors that drive rightwing extremist radicalization,’” Mr. Thompson said, demanding to know what types of activities DHS had planned for “the next several months.”

I understand that there are some Americans who feel that we as a nation would be better off without handguns (and most other types of guns in general). Personally, I don’t agree with that idea, but I respect it since other people also have first amendment rights as well.

The question that I have for those of you who want to ban guns is why you don’t actively oppose the 2nd amendment. Personally, I think that would make much more sense than passing a law of questionable constitutionality, making people upset about having the constitution ignored, and having the law repealed down the road by a court. Instead of simply passing laws, would it not make more sense to explain to your fellow citizens why you think the 2nd amendment is an archaic remnant from revolutionary times? Wouldn’t it make more sense to explain to people why you think the 2nd amendment is a burden and a threat to American security?

Like I said, I would not support something like that since I’m a gun owner and I support the 2nd amendment. But I honestly feel that people should be more honest and open about their true feelings because it would result in a much more productive and fruitful debate. I’m eager to hear what other people have to say, especially supporters of gun control, so answer away.
AE Moreira, if the liberals never wanted to completely ban handguns, then why did DC forbid its residents from owning handguns for so long?

“A month before a suspected white supremacist walked into the Holocaust Memorial Museum in downtown Washington and opened fire, the Department of Homeland Security warned that domestic right-wing extremism was the most pressing domestic terrorist threat that the country faced.”

“The man authorities say was the shooter at the Holocaust Museum, James von Brunn, was a well-known white supremacist who had railed against blacks, Jews, and the power of the federal government. In 1981, Brunn walked into the Federal Reserve Board with a shotgun, according to news reports. In another incident in early April, three police officers in Pittsburgh were killed by another reported white supremacist.

In another recent high-profile incident, George Tiller, a Kansas doctor who performed legal abortions, was shot and killed last Sunday as he stood in the aisle of his church. Scott Roeder, the man charged in Tiller’s murder, echoes the DHS report on right-wing extremism. Believed to have been a member of an antigovernment militia in Montana during the mid-1990s, Roeder had a history of railing against taxes and abortion, according to news reports. “We can see from these incidents that the U.S. is not immune from these types of attacks and that a lone gunman or cell can kill just as effectively,” says Bruce Hoffman, a terrorism expert at Georgetown University. “But it also shows that those operating outside an organized terrorist network lack the training and tradecraft to make their attacks either sustained or a systemic threat.” After the killing, the U.S. Marshals Service was instructed to increase security at the country’s abortion clinics.”

What do you have in mind? What are you looking at/for? What type of stance do you get in? Anything else? Also do you do this with everyone or just those who appear to be a threat. I work security and we don’t get trained in this type of stuff. I know the basics but any advice from the pro’s would be good stuff.

5 hours ago from now i was surfing my browswer and just looking at things. I always pay attention to everything and i make sure I never install anything that’s harmful or something i dont trust. Like if i want to install an update or some other stuff I’ll always go on the official Microsoft website to do so.
I was on google, surfing. I typed in the rarest diablo 2 items (Diablo 2 is an rpg for those who don’t know that). And so i looked around, i clicked on a few websites. My computer was fine, then when i finally clicked on a 3rd one ( it was called something like maxfreak) (DO NOT GO ON IT), my firefox browser failed. So i was like, okay this happens every 2 weeks and now. I re-opened my firefox. Everything was still fine. Then on my right, this crap popped up, must install security system, 3000 threats found!) Ok I didn’t fall for that so i blocked it because I know that it was an unkown publisher. But even when i ignored it ( i didn’t press anything on it or related to it) That crap still coming back, another window popped up. So I started to realize some sh!t was happening. So i moved fast, i quickly turned on my anti virus scan. I made sure my firewall was on, and so i waited untill i could find something. A friend recommended me that i downloaded the latest malwarebytes system. Before I did, my antivirus system started going crazy, I could tell that sh!t was done for, it got infected. So it was a race against time, i couldn’t install the malware byes ( anti malware system) my friend uses it, its safe. because apparently the VIRUS wouldn’t allow me to install it. So i kept moving on. i installed another program which i knew was safe. I managed to do that, and then i managed to find what was wrong. I had over 300 small viruses, malware and trojans ( by just going onto 1 website). I was scared, seriously, so i did my best i removed everything. My computer went back to normal. I thought it was over? It looked like it, everything was perfect. i clicked again my my firefox.. ERROR CANNOT FIND FILE ERROR. I clicked on one of my games (starcraft, diablo 2) ERROR CANNOT FIND FILE. i clicked on itunesk adope, ANYTHING, nothing is working. So i quickly moved on, i did the recovery system from before when i visited that website. and guess what it finished, and i still got ERROR everywhere. I tried to think what to do, i realized if i right clicked on a program and made it run, adminstator, it would then run!! The virus was still nowhere in sight, i think i deleted it all. But then your probably thinking? Hey why not go on the properties ( and check the box ( run as admin…). Yes i did that, but it still gives me that ERROR. I have to always right click a program to make it start.
The exact error text says.. Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
Can someone please help me? I will give you1 best answer if you find solution? I will give you 3 best answer if you help me solve it (finally). How? i will make 2 more question (random and just give you the best answer in the end). Please don’t tell me to call microsoft, they aren’t going to do crap!! I don’t think i can re-install the system, since i upgraded it form windows vista to windows 7. Please help me!! I am not a computer expert!

3 viruses, 5 Trojans, 4 adware programs ( vulnerbility)
The Error message wont allow me to install anything.
