EXCERPT FROM ARTICLE:
NASCAR fans have been criticized for a number of things over the years, ranging from perpetuating a redneck stereotype to still showing pride in the Rebel Flag.

Now, as one Mississippi congressman would have you believe, NASCAR fans are also a threat to national security and the nation’s health.

Yes, you, Bubba. You, too, Bobbie Sue. Y’all got the cooties.

That’s what Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, would have you believe.

The seven-term Congressman recently instructed committee aides who visited Talladega Superspeedway last weekend and are also at this weekend’s Nextel Cup race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway to be immunized against a variety of diseases such as hepatitis A, hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus and influenza.

**What do you think about this?**
MORE FROM ARTICLE:

As can be expected, others countered that Thompson’s edict was more liberal Democratic “the-sky-is-falling” hysteria mongering. Even members of his own party have to be wondering, “What is this guy thinking?”

I work at a convenience store, worked here for a year now. I worked at another one for a year. I live in Tucson, AZ, if this helps.

At my old job we were never to refund or exchange tobacco or alcohol products once someone leaves the store (goes outside the doors). It was against the law. At my current job, I always refused a customer who wanted a refund or exchange of tobacco or alcohol. But now, they want me to start allowing those types of transactions!

What happened was last week, a woman came in and purchased a 12 pack of beer. A few minutes later a man came in holding a 12 pack of beer and said his wife just bought it and wanted to refund it so he could by an 18 pack instead. I explained to him the law and that I couldn’t refund it. He asked to see the manager so I went to get her. While he was waiting for my manager, he asked my coworker the same question. My coworker also told him it was against the law and that a refund was not allowed. My manager spoke to him and he asked her the same question. My manager also told him it was against the law and that a refund was not allowed. The man got angry, threatened us and left. I had to report the threat to the police and to our security office.

The next day we received a memo saying that it wasn’t illegal to refund or exchange tobacco or alcohol and that “if Jessica had known that, the customer would not have gotten irate. We lost business because Jessica refused him.” Excuse me, but my coworker AND my manager did the same thing. Why am I the only one getting called out? The rest of the memo makes it seem like it’s okay to do whatever the customer wants if they threaten us, even if it’s illegal.

So is it illegal? Should I be worried that I could get arrested?
I just want to know if it’s illegal in Arizona. I understand that other states a different. Arizona has very strong alcohol laws.

If it’s illegal I’m not going to allow transactions like that, even if my company wants me to. That’s ridiculous, they can’t make break the law.

Don’t the American people deserve to know if they are living near a ‘potential terrorist’?

http://www.aclu.org/privacy/35968prs20080714.html

What type of American people do you think are on this list? 400,000 to a MILLION citizens is a lot of people! What are the qualifications for being added to such a list?

Do you think people who speak against the wrongdoings of the US govt, the Patriot Act; about chemtrails, genetically modified / engineered foods, sodium fluoride + psychotic drugs & barium in public water; having mercury & aspartame in our vaccines, using toxic plastics with recycle #’s 3, 6 & 7 for food; the dangers of high fructose corn syrup, crystalline fructose, sucralose (Splenda), phenylalanine & all artificial sugars / sweeteners, the Elites, Bilderberg Group, the North American Union, CFR & Codex Alimentarius; or that believe 9/11 was an inside job, are on this list?

Do you think most of these people are actually threats to American society and national security?
btw – I know what silly consequences could occur if a list were made to be public; I’m kinda making a funny. I just don’t think there are 400,000 American born and raised potential terrorists living in the USA. There’s not that many people working in the White House and Pentagram…excuse me, Pentagon.

A Russian website is selling a spyware kit, called WebAttacker, for approximately ten pounds sterling. The website, which refers to its creators as spyware and adware developers, markets the strengths of its kits, makes the kits available for online purchase and offers technical support to its buyers.

Included in the kits are scripts designed to simplify the task of infecting computers – the buyer need only spam out a message to email addresses, inviting recipients to visit a compromised website. Newsworthy topics are used to lure unwary users. One presents itself as a warning of the deadly H5N1 bird flu virus, providing links to the bogus website, which purports to contain advice on how to protect “you and your family”. The other claims that Slobodan Milosevic was murdered and invites users to visit the site for more information. These websites then attempt to download the malicious code remotely onto the user’s PC by taking advantage of known web browser and operating system vulnerabilities.

JavaScript code on the infected websites detects the visiting computer’s browser version and operating system, including any installed patches, and launches the most appropriate exploit. The exploit downloads a program that attempts to turn off the firewall and install malware, generally a password stealer, keylogger or a banking Trojan. Sophos protection against this threat has been available since 13 March, 2006.

“This type of behaviour is inviting the return of script-kiddies,” said Carole Theriault, senior security consultant at Sophos. “By simplifying the task of the potential hacker for a mere tenner, sites like this one will attract opportunists who aren’t necessarily very skilled and turn them into cyber-criminals.”

“The underground cyber economy is, in some ways, very similar to the one most of us operate by – everyone wants a piece of the action,” continued Theriault. “The more common cyber attacks become, the more we will see these types of sites offering kits, databases of email addresses, as well as bespoke Trojans and spyware. So as long as the money continues to flow, there will be interested parties.”

What Did The Democrats Say About Iraq’s WMD
________________________________________
“Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime … He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation … And now he is miscalculating America’s response to his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction … So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real…”
– Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003 | Source
“I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force — if necessary — to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security.”
– Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002 | Source
“One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them. That is our bottom line.”
– President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998 | Source
“If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction program.”
– President Bill Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998 | Source
“We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the stability and security of his neighbors with weapons of mass destruction.”
– Madeline Albright, Feb 1, 1998 | Source
“He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten times since 1983.”
– Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998 | Source
“[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including, if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq’s refusal to end its weapons of mass destruction programs.”
Letter to President Clinton.
– (D) Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, others, Oct. 9, 1998 | Source
“Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process.”
– Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998 | Source
“Hussein has … chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass destruction and palaces for his cronies.”
– Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999 | Source
“We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and th! e means of delivering them.”
– Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002 | Source
“We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country.”
– Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002 | Source
“Iraq’s search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power.”
– Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002 | Source
“We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction.”
– Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002 | Source
“The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons…”
– Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002 | Source
“There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years … We also should remember we have always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction.”
– Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002 | Source

“In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members … It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons.”
– Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002 | Source

“We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction.”
– Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002 | Source

I will just use two recent examples. After 9/11, all sorts of measures were instituted- The Patriot Act, a massive Homeland Security Agency, etc. Some of them were knee jerk type stuff. Did they just do this stuff to give the illusion that they were doing something about the problem? Why didn’t the government take action beforehand? They knew the threat of Al-Qaeda (in fact, I should say that some half hearted measures were taken beforehand- Clinton tried to bomb one of Bin Laden’s camps and failed). The second example would be this economic mess. I am not saying I am a genius but I always used to think to myselfduring the boom that something was wrong. There is simply something very wrong when people’s home prices increase much much faster than their incomes. My father and I used to talk about the insanity. We felt like the nation was living on borrowed time- especially because we knew that the U.S. hardly made anything (manufacturing) anymore, we were bogged down by financially costly overseas wars, our trade deficit was way out of wack, and the whole damn nation was in debt over their heads. We live in Florida so we experienced the insanity firsthand. There was just no way those home prices could keep rising and we knew the types of loans these banks were giving out too. Now the government is trying to act like they are doing something about the problem- but only after the whole damn economy crashed! Why wasn’t there more regulation on Wall street in the first place. I have been reading Ralph Nader’s articles and he has talked about this sort of thing for like… forever. He’s a stand up guy though so he isn’t the type to gloat and say, “I told ya so!” But I am. Just kidding! I am a polical and history graduate so I do follow these things closely though.
