I want to connect my laptop to the desktop computer’s network wirelessly but I don’t know how. On my laptop its connect router’s network but I can’t connect it to the desktop’s network. There’s two separate networks but I can get both computers connected to one. Is there a way to do that? The desktop computer is connect to the cable modem and the router. Sorry if this all sounds confusing,

My roommate and I share an internet connection with my computer being the primary computer that supports the router. She downloads constantly and is taking up an extreme amount of bandwidth. How do I limit bandwidth to certain computers on our wireless network?

I have a home network linked with player on each. The problem is there is no access to any drives including the DVD drives. It lists music and so forth, but nothing for any drives. So from computer A one cannot see or even start a DVD drive on computer B. Am I missing something?

I have installed trend micro virus 2007, enabled windows firewall, installed a program to wipe my cache, and encrypt all my files with 256 bit encryption. what else can i do to improve my privacy and security on my computer. I was also wondering if there is a way to protect my wireless network more than i am right now than just with the pass key?
I have a two year old Sony VAIO notebook with windows vista home premium, and a seven year old dell desktop running XP hime SP2.
I meant to say XP Home SP2

Unless you know what the two symbols I am looking for are.
