I dont know much about the computer at all actually. I just thought it would be cool to learn how to upgrade computers. I know i want to change the ram to 512 mb, also what else should i replace. Dont tell me to get a new computer cause i want to upgrade the one i have. I just want to learn the basics make an experiment out of this any help would be greatly apreciated. Come on help the youth grow.

Help. My church just suggested that I work on doing this for our musical portion of church info to be sent out and I know nothing about doing this sort of thing on the computer. Is there someone out there who can help me with very simple ways of doing this and it needs to be someone with lots of patience because I will probably have thousands of questions being a newbie to this modern age. I am building my first computer! I don’t have enough money to get all the parts I want, all at once, but Christmas IS coming up… So I thought I should get a case.

Antec 300, Antec 900, or Antec 1200? I think the 300 would be good, looks like fine quality for a low price, not huge with alot of extra space that I might not use…

But I am a newbie. ;D

And I want the rig to be a gaming computer. ;D

I sometimes try to record video from my computer (I’m a newbie) with cam programs such as Hypercam 2 and Camstudio.
I usually try to take videos of videos I like that I cant download, such as flash movies from Newgrounds, but I cant record the sound from the flash movie/video straight from the computer. I have to crank up the volume on my computer and record the sound with the microphone (which produces terrible sound and white noise in the background), which is annoying.
I read the help manuals online, but they say that I need to choose a specific recorder from the “sound record” drop-down menu (“mono” for example). I cant find the specific choice required for computer sound recording, and when I try to do without, I get an error and the sound recorder reverts to the microphone.
This is really annoying, and I dont want to have to sit absolutely still to get meager sound quality. Is there some sort of codec or program I can get to record sound AND video straight from the computer?

I’m going to try and build a gaming computer, but, me being a newbie with this, I wanted to ask if the stuff I picked is compatible, and if anyone had any suggestions. (If you have any suggestions for a change of part, just make sure it isn’t far from the first part’s price. I’m not looking to spend $100,000 on a computer.) I’m also not looking for a super gaming computer, so I’m not looking for $400 graphics cards, or anything like that. I’m just looking for a pretty good one, that can run things like Fallout 3, TF2, and games like that well at higher video settings.

You’re right Tassular, the ATi card you linked looks like it would be better, but still not too expensive.
