Iv tried posting this earyler but the link to the shopping cart with all the computer parts did not work so instead ill post the part numbers which than can be keyed into Newegg.com to see the specs. My question is wether the components listed below are compatible with eachother and what i could have possibly missed. Please anyone with computer expertise help a newbie out =)

Ok based on everyones answers this set up should in theory work fine. Thanks for all your time and help iam very grateful. ill post for final revisions, also take a close look at the power source as i was not 100% on my decision thanks guys/gals ^^.

My old hard drive got damaged, so I bought a new Seagate barracuda 500gb SATA hard drive. I plugged in the power and the data cord in the appropriate slots. This is the first time I’m installing a new hard drive. The motherboard doesn’t detect the hard drive and when I try to boot the windows xp disc from the cd it says that it cannot read the disc. I’m sort of a newbie at installing new computer components, so please help me figure out what to do. Thanks in advance!

I am installing simply mepis on a computer at school, but I can’t get it to boot. So I did some research and found out about a grub boot floppy. I tried to make one but I can only find directions for how to create on in Linux and I only have access to windows computers. I am also a newbie
I want it to boot from the hard drive
I have already installed mepis. I get “loading grub stage 2″ The longest I waited for it to boot was two long hours

When I want to log in to yahoo, autocomplete has incorrect versions of my username listed. (My fault). How do I get them off there and my correct username on there? The same goes for my password. I am a newbie with computers and I need help.

I’m pretty much a newbie on the computer, but I was wondering if HP games take up space when you download them. (I only do the free trial and once it’s done I never play with them again.)

E.g – The game FATE. Its around 400mb, I played the first game and it was AWESOME. I totally want to play the third installment, but it’s 400mb. Will it take the space up in my computer? And or make it slow?

Okay im a newbie with this computer fixing stuff, I just naturally learned over the week. So heres the story I have a IBM Netvista M series, it got the blue screen of death and keeps restarting. Everyone says, just buy a new internal hard drive. Because I truly can tell this one is done. My question is can I put a 500gb or more in it. It was a great sort of fast computer. It only had a 40 gb hard drive though. So im thinking what would it be like with a 500gb or more. So can I do it, and also do they come with windows xp, or vista, or 7 already on them. Or do you have to install it yourself.
