Author: I already have an internet connection with Virgin Media, and I have been trying to get internet access for my PSP and PS3 games consoles, but no success. Will a wireless USB adapter work without intervening my current connection?

You will need to buy a router. Netgear or Linksys seem to be the best answers these days.
Which PS3 do you have? I was under the impression they all came with wireless built in (mine does). If you have a wireless router on hand, have you tried connecting to it under Settings > Network Settings on the PS3?
I’m not familiar with the PSP, but I’m fairly sure that has wireless built-in as well.
